The new Waja 1.8L engine delivers performance where it matters. The new inline-4 DOHC 16-valve powerplant comes with cutting edge features - Drive-By-Wire Throttle Control for crisp, instantaneous response to varied driving conditions and Variable Valve Timing (VVT) for broad power and torque delivery. Maximum power is 88kW with response enhanced by the variable inlet valve that is activated by hard acceleration. Maximum torque is 165Nm available from 2000rpm to 4500rpm. The new generation Adaptive Automatic Transmission optimizes engine revs the way you want it. The Fuzzy Logic feature monitors your driving style and prompts the transmission to change gears to adapt accordingly. If you're in hurry the lower gears will be maintained longer to maximize the drive, if you're just cruising along, the gears will upshift faster and maintain at the higher gears longer to deliver a more satisfying driving experience. The gear control also activates downshifting during hard braking or prolonged actuation of the brake pedal. This optimizes engine control in twisty or downhill conditions. The transmission comes with an Overdrive On/Off feature which allows the driver more control of engine performance.
Driving has never been safer with the Waja 1.8. We built in a host of safety features including an enhanced all-disc brake system with standard ABS and Brake Assist to boost braking power during emergency braking conditions and to greatly reduce the braking distance required.
These features are complemented by Electronic Brake Force Distribution, which optimizes brake forces between all wheels according to the load on board your vehicle. Additional safety features include dual airbags for driver and passenger.

No thief will get very far in your Waja 1.8. Equipped with an engine immobiliser system that prevents engine operation via a strategy known as Software Lock, the electronic control unit of the engine is protected using the immobiliser key fork encoded with a 2nd generation rolling code to avoid duplication.
